Download File Please come talk to me before you decide to submit anything as I will give you even more specific instructions on length, what they are looking for, and how to label the video.
Get a Grip
This week Danno helped out with a school project called “Get A Grip”, where vinyl cutouts of Parkour vaults and other movements were places in actual areas practitioners do them. Pretty funky cool idea! Here are a couple shots below of the final project. 3 cheers for Jackie for such a cool project idea. I think they would look awesome on a tshirt!

Female Monthly Parkour; June 6th
Next month we will be taking a slight deviation from the Sundays, and changing the female meet to a Saturday instead. Those who have marked down June 7th on their calendars, we are really sorry and hope you can make the change! The theme of this months meet will be outdoor training and conditioning. We will be exploring a public space downtown, dissecting parts of it, moving through them, and conditioning out bodies at the same time.
The meet will take place at Cloud Gardens @ 11am on Saturday June 6th Click here for map! You must RSVP to attend this meet, so we know what numbers to expect. The cost for this one will be 10 dollars and will run from roughly 2 - 2.5 hours. Hope to see a bunch of you out and YES first timers are welcome!
Danno on The Fan 590
Next Thursday afternoon, Danno will be appearing live on the The Fan 590 radio talking about Parkour and answering some questions about where it is now and where it will be heading. Details will be posted later so you can tune in to listen to his sexy voice (not).
More Ninjutsu, and Crossfit!
Today we held a small workshop for members of Gikan Dojo and Crossfit Orillia, who were a stand up fantastic group with a great attitude. If you are from, or are ever in the Orillia area and looking for some people to train with, check out their websites! A group from the MV might even be making a trip up North soon, (I consider it ‘up North’, they didn’t) to hold a workshop/seminar at their training space.
The more people we can learn things from the better, and we are happy to interact with all disciplines and arts a like. If you think you’re group might be interested in coming and sharing ideas and doing some training (and visa-versa), lets get talking!
Site Updating…
We will be doing some work to the site over the next couple days, and we apologize if this causes the site to go down or anything like that. We’re experts at jumping around and having fun, not computers… ![]()
Saturday Night Monkey Business
Here’s a video from last weekends Saturday Night training session. Subscribe to our Youtube channel to get updates on some more videos we will be releasing soon. I won’t say much more.. enjoy it!
Tire Flipping Mission
On Friday night, a group of seven closed the training centre early to head out on a crazy adventure. When the Monkey Vault wants a new tire for conditioning, they don’t pick it up with a truck, but rather, just flip it all the way back home. 10km and over 9000 flips; seven hours later, we arrived with the tire, finally ours.
Special thanks to Max, Mandy, Stephen, Shawn, Steven and “The Falcon”® for helping out. For charity next time?
Braydens Jones new video
Check out a video of our brother from another mother Brayden Jones and sign up for his youtube page to be on the lookout for more. Brayden is a part of our main team here at the MV, is a main leader in the Parkour scene across Canada and leads a group of ‘very energetic’ guys in Brantford Ontario. Enough talk though, check out the video below and let it inspire you to train harder!
Parkour + Ninjutsu training
Thursday night at 6pm we will be hosting Bud Malmstrom from Bujinkan Atlanta, a 10th degree black belt under Grandmaster Masaaki Hatsumi. He will be running a about an hour and a half workshop that gives you an idea of a seminar he will be running on the weekend in Thornhill. After training with Bud for 2 days already, the similarities between Parkour and Ninjutsu are strikingly similar it’s almost scary. We have talked about things that overlap between the two arts, and he will be running the workshop geared towards some of those things. We are very very lucky, and it’s a great opportunity for anyone interested in Martial arts / Ninjitsu and I hope to see some of you out.
Cost is 10 dollars and you must reserve a spot! Email us if you want to come.
