Hamilton and Scarborough Parkour Meet

This Sunday the 1st, we will be having a HUGE Parkour meet with both the communities of Hamilton and Scarborough Parkour coming to the Monkey Vault. Should be a really interesting day, and a long night.. Tons of fun in store..

Check out the trailer to the new David Belle movie, Banlieue 13 Ultimatum. What’s up with the random, over the railing, up to the second floor thing…. I guess they are trying to come up with stuff that hasn’t been in a 3run video yet. As per any ‘Parkour movie’, we will setup a special day for viewing when it comes out.

Visitors Programs

Lately we are getting more and more visitors coming to train with us and run through our Parkour programming. To this day we have had Parkour practitioners from Brazil, Ukraine, New Zealand, Australia, Britain, France, Bermuda, Mexico and all over the USA (From New York all the way to California) and Canada. We will have info up soon on the site about various options for travelers and all the information you will need if you want to come stay with us and train for a weekend, a week, or even more. We love opening up guests eyes to the wonderful world of strength training and how it WILL better your Parkour, so we rarely say no to guests as we want this taboo topic within Parkour to spread far and wide.

Monkey Vault T-shirt Design 1

The original plan was to release t-shirts as purchasable gifts reserved only for people who were training hard at the training centre or who had completed a special ‘t-shirt workout’. Things have changed though, and for now we have decided to release the first t-shirts to the public as a sort of fundraiser in order to get some more equipment. They are only in limited quantities, and we are unsure if they will be remade after in their current form. An online store will go up soon where you can purchase and support the gym via paypal, or you can always come in person and buy one.

Busy Times

With so much going on lately in the Parkour scene here in Canada, it’s become hard to even update the site! We are in the midst of starting our own DVD, a potential global Parkour magazine, continually modifying our training system to be better, running classes, doing birthdays, doing school workshops and ongoing programs, training guests from other countries, organizing some future performances, compiling the code for our ‘Ask the Monkeys’ section, and so much more. January has been anything but calm, Parkour is hitting Canada hard this year! As we get the time all these things will be updated on the site, until then though, don’t sit back and hesitate, come out and train!!

Parkour Buffalo Visits

This weekend we will have 3 visitors from Parkour Buffalo who are making the trip to stay at the Monkey Vault and learn a little bit about our training. We all voted at the gym that they should have to do non-stop prowler sprints, mile long tire flips, farmers walks their arms fall off, and the medicine route over and over again to top it all off…. But I think we will throw in some Parkour as well. Just in case the guys from Buffalo see this and get scared, don’t worry I’m just kidding. Or am I? It’s going to be an awesome weekend here at the Vault, come visit our friends from the south if you have time.

Parkour Dodgeball Tournament

After having an intense Parkour Dodgeball (Dodgeball + obstacle course) on the weekend inside the Monkey Vault, we have decided to have our first full on tournament. Teams will be selected by you, and will require 3 people to enter, a team name, and an mp3 themesong to be played before the match. The tournament will be a giant round-robin match with prizes at the end. Start thinking of who your teams can be, and get ready for more news later. The official date will be in February. For those wondering, Dan will be playing on Team Monkey Vault, and they plan on winning.

Yet Another Video Shoot

2 motorocross guys + 2 Jones Stunts brothers + 1 kickass training centre = The making of a sweet Parkour video. We filmed a segment here on Friday that will be part of a new Motocross DVD coming out later this year. More to come and videos when they are available….

More Parkour Birthdays!

We will be having birthday parties 2 Sundays in a row! These parties are getting more and more popular. For anyone reading this and wondering, what’s a Parkour birthday party? Well we warmup and go over some rules, and spend 2 hours going over, under and through all the different obstacles in the gym. **Just a heads up to anyone out there the floor will not be available during this Sunday and next, from 2-4pm.**
